Case in point: in October, 2023, Splice VFX Supervisor Nick Hillyard joined the Splice Atlanta team at Cine Gear Expo Atlanta 2023, where they immersed themselves in the world of virtual production at Trilith Studios.

A Glimpse of the Future: Trilith Studios and the Prysm Stage

Trilith Studios (based in Fayetteville, about 30 miles south of Atlanta) hosted the Cine Gear crowd in ’23 (and will again in 2024), and showcased their Prysm stage, the state-of-the-art LED volume wall that’s reshaping the way filmmakers work – and opening up endless possibilities in virtual production. 

"The advancements in virtual production are just astonishing,” said Nick, who left Trilith convinced that the film industry is on the brink of a(nother) technological revolution.

 “It's truly inspiring because it’ll allow us to tell stories in ways we never thought were possible."
